This beach with the bright blue waters is right under the modern church of Saint Luke, from where a short path to the beach begins. Standing on the beach, you can also easily see the byzantine church of Saint Phocas at the north, which was built in the honor of Byzantine emperor Nikiforos Phocas for the liberation of Crete in 961 AD from the Arabs.
